How to Install your Sliding Door?

Installing a sliding door certainly is a bit more complex than installing simple swing doors. Are you wondering how to install a sliding door yourself? Necessary Materials and Tools

Installing Dörr interior Pocket doors only requires a few tools that any handy homeowner should already have on hand. In fact, our doors are delivered with all of the necessary parts. You will only need a few basic tools and materials, such as:

• A drill
• A pencil
• Adhesive tape
• A laser level
• A measuring tape
• Screws (including flathead screws and 1- inch max. screws)
• Plaster
• Oil primer

Step 1 – Preparation

Before starting the installation process, you will want to begin by preparing the space where the door will be installed. This step is crucial; once the installation has begun, it won’t be time to turn back! This step essentially consists of preparing the rough opening for the door and to raise the floor to the same level as the finished floor.

The first step in the installation process is to attach the track; it is essential that the track be perfectly perpendicular to the height of the door, and you can make sure of this by using a laser level.

Step 2 – Pre-assembly

In your installation kit for your sliding doors, you will find all of the parts you need to assemble your sliding doors. During the pre-assembly step, you will install the U-shaped track on the frame and screw it in. You will then insert the rolling system into the metal track, and follow with the finishing parts, making sure everything is properly fastened and solid.

These installation steps for your sliding door will ensure that your doors are working smoothly and reliably once they are installed.

Step 3 – Installation

The time has now come for you to install your sliding doors! This step begins with the installation of the Integra frame, by making sure that the frame is perfectly aligned with the floor. This is where flathead screws come in handy, as they will allow the mechanism to slide freely! You will then install the two Integra frames by following the instructions provided by our team.

When you follow our step-by-step method, you ensure a secure and solid installation that is also durable and, mostly, functional. Before moving on to the next step, make sure that the doors are sliding smoothly and that they close properly.

Step 4 – Gypsum Board and Plaster

Your door is installed! The only thing left to do is to finish with the gypsum board and plaster around the opening, making sure that you end up with a clean and polished professional finish.
